The disAbility Resource Center
...provides a five week Health, Wellness & Fitness class on Tuesday mornings from 10:30 – 11:30 am. July 8th – August 12, 2008 (no class on July 29th!). Cost is $10.00 for the entire five week session. The exercise class is for people with disabilities, their families, and personal attendants. Everyone participates to their abilities. Fun, upbeat and energizing! Learn about proper nutrition, healthy lifestyle and wellness. Healthful, nutritious, tasty snacks after each session. Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts (FCCA) presents "Celebration" a National All Media Juried Show in the Frederick Gallery, 813 Sophia Street, Fredericksburg, VA. The work of Steven Walker will be on display in the FCCA Members’ Gallery. These shows open 29 June and run through 26 July with a First Saturday Opening Reception on 5 July from 6-8:30pm. The exhibitions are free and open to the public daily from 12-4pm (except Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and from 11am-4pm on Saturdays. For more information contact FCCA at 540-373-5646.

BeachWop 08 Concert Series-Michael Hoover
Join James Matthews and the WGRQ Crew at the brand new Mercedes Benz and Volvo of Fredericksburg Park off of Fall Hill Avenue for a great concert each and every Thursday night for your favorite bands live and in person! This Thursday catch Memories of Elvis with Michael Hoover and his band! This is the real deal! If you are a fan of Elvis music, this is truly the place you want to be, bring your blanket, lawn chair and dancing shoes, and join us at the park! 4th of July Celebrations:

Caroline County: Annual 4th of July Celebration at Caroline High School. 6pm-till? Free Admission and Free Parking. Please no pets. For more info: (804) 633-4074.

Culpeper County: The Inn at Kelly's Ford. Food, fun, and fireworks. Live entertainment performed by the cover band, Leggz. Fireworks are at dusk, rain or shine. Chilldren under six are free. Free parking. For more info: (540) 399-1779.

Stafford County: July Fourth Spectacular at Pratt Park. Starts at 8pm. Free Rappahannock POPS concert. Come out and watch the Fredericksburg City fireworks display starting at 9:15. Pratt Park is located on River Road inStafford County. For more information: (800) 260-3646 .

This 4th of July, we are providing your "Soundtrack of Freedom." Whether you are watching the fireworks from Downtown, Old Mill Park, Spotsylvania, Colonial Beach, Caroline, or your just grilling out in your backyard, 95.9 WGRQ is providing the patriotic music!

The soundtrack begins around 9:15pm.

Car Show Dowtown Fredericksburg
As part of The 36th Annual Fredericksburg Heritage Festival, The Stafford Classics car club of Stafford will be hosting a display of 45 American Classic Automobiles. The display will range form 1919 to 1972 vehicles. Located on Sophia street, across from the parking garage, we will have signs, and free to everyone. The Wounded Warrior Project will be there with their Formula Vee race car and trailer, bring your entire family and check it out! Please e-mail or call with any questions or comments. The Bluemont Concert Series: The Taters
The Bluemont Concert Series is proud to present the Taters at 7:30 p.m. for the second of ten performances in Fredericksburg. All Saturday evening concerts take place at the Maury School Stadium field, located at the intersection of Hanover St. and Kenmore Avenue in historic Fredericksburg. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs, and a picnic to enjoy before the show. Admission is $5 per person, $4 for Bluemont Friends and seniors, $2 for kids under 12; proceeds go to support Bluemont's year-round Artist-in-Education program in area schools. As at all Bluemont concerts, no pets, alcohol or smoking are allowed. In case of bad weather, the concerts will be held at James Monroe High School. All are welcome to these family oriented events. The Taters, the winner of Billboard Magazine's 1999 Critic's Choice Award, provide a truly entertaining mix of classic rock, pop, country, skiffle and old-time country rockabilly. Charity Concert with Anthony Campbell
Local nonprofit, The Home of Miracles and Embraces, Inc. (H.O.M.E.), is holding its first annual concert, FredStock08, benefitting the children of H.O.M.E. The concert held at Cannon Ridge Golf Course (www.golfcannonridge.com), located at 9000 Celebrate Virginia Parkway, Fredericksburg, on July 26 beginning at 4 p.m. with doors opening at 1. King George native and entertainer Anthony Campbell (website) will headline this event. Mr. Campbell rose to fame singing on the Today Show. Other artists on the ticket are Tiltfinger, Brandishing Steel, Jonathon Sorrow, Caz Flame and the Mythmakers. Ticket prices are $25 for 18 and older, $10 for students 10-17, children 9 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the Fredericksburg Visitor Center, Cannon Ridge Golf Course or by calling (540) 479-4030. H.O.M.E. is currently partnering with Georgetown University Medical Center and Medical College of Virginia to help children infected with HIV/AIDS. American Red Cross Yard Sale
The American Red Cross Youth Team is holding a Yard Sale from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Chapter office at 4836 Southpoint Parkway near Cracker Barrel. Proceeds benefit Red Cross Youth Team, Malaria Prevention and International Response Fund. Youth Team is accepting donations for the Yard Sale. All items should be clean, in good condition and in working order. Clothing, shoes and large appliances are not accepted. Twilight 5 K Run
FCHC Twilight 5km, Saturday Aug 2, 2008, 7pm, 5 km road run/walk starting and finishing in Loriella Park in Spotsylvania County.
